Joining Team Ontario becomes unforgettable experience for Wiikwemkoong members

Joining Team Ontario was an unforgettable experience for two individuals with Wiikwemkoong roots.

They proudly brought home gold medals in hockey from the 2023 Canada Winter Games.

The event was held in Prince Edward Island, where top athletes across Canada competed in various winter sports.

For these two individuals, representing Ontario was a great honour and a chance to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.

With hard work and determination, they helped their team secure the gold medal in the hockey tournament, beating out tough competition from other provinces.

The pride and joy they felt in their accomplishments were evident when they returned to Wiikwemkoong, greeted with open arms and congratulations from their community.

The experience of representing their province and winning a gold medal will undoubtedly stay with them for a lifetime, and they hope to inspire others to follow their dreams and pursue their passions.
