Jeremy Lin quits the Chinese basketball league mid-season

It is possible that Linsanity will return to the United States.

Jeremy Lin, who mesmerized New York during his magical run with the Knicks in 2012, is leaving the Chinese Basketball Association, thereby cutting short his season with the Guangzhou Loong Lions.

Lin now intends to return to the United States, albeit his basketball future is uncertain.

Lin posted on Instagram, “After much contemplation, I’ve chosen to quit the CBA for this season.” “The decision was not an easy one. I still enjoy basketball and look forward to returning to the court in the future. As of now, I’ll return to the United States to recuperate and reset before making a choice with my family about my next move.

“Many thanks to the CBA, Guangzhou, my coaches, teammates, and all of my fans. Sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported me during my career. Over the past three years, it has been really difficult for me to not play basketball in front of the spectators, and I miss you all terribly. When I reach a conclusion, I will be sure to inform everyone. Much love.”

Lin was averaging seven points and two assists per game for the 8-12 Guangzhou squad. On December 20, Lin, 34, last played for the Long Lions.

Lin was fined $1,400 earlier this month for criticizing the team’s hotel weight room amid the harsh COVID measures, which have subsequently been relaxed.

“Can you believe this is a fitness center?” Lin was cited as having said. What sort of trash is this?

From 2010 to 2019, Lin was the point guard for the Rockets, Lakers, Hornets, Nets, Hawks, Warriors, and Raptors in addition to the Knicks. In 2012, while playing for the Knicks, he scored 136 points in his first five starts and made a series of game-winning baskets and highlight-reel moves that captivated New York fans.

In the years that followed, he carved himself a successful NBA career, having last played with the Raptors in 2019. Until 2021, he was a member of the G-League Santa Cruz Warriors before moving abroad to join the CBA.
