The Chancellor is moving into the No. 11 apartment occupied by the former prime minister and his family.

Despite the lengthy “Wallpapergate” scandal, it appears he is not entirely satisfied with the decor.

According to MailOnline, the Hunts are having new carpets installed today, as workers were sighted on the street.

Rishi Sunak has decided to relocate into the smaller apartment above No. 10 that he occupied as chancellor and had renovated at his own expense.

The Johnsons recruited renowned interior designer Lulu Lytle to change the ‘John Lewis furniture nightmare’ left by Theresa May, including the use of £840-per-roll gold ‘Espalier Square’ wallpaper.

They are not believed to have replaced any carpets.

The Cabinet Office has a £30,000 annual budget for property maintenance.

However, when the amount escalated, Mr. Johnson pondered having Tory donors foot the bill before settling the issue himself in the face of an angry response.

Later, a report from the Electoral Commission revealed that the total cost of the project, inclusive of VAT, was £112,549.

Mr. Johnson was exonerated of violating the ministerial code, but his standards adviser determined that he had acted “irrationally.”
