Top 10 “Idols SA” competitor Nozi Sibiya received praise from former “American Idols” champion Jennifer Hudson on Thursday, September 22 for her stunning rendition of Hudson’s 2008 smash track “Giving Myself.”
In 2004, Hudson was a finalist on the third season of “American Idols,” where she finished seventh.
“Giving Myself” was the third and final single of Jennifer Hudson’s 2008 debut album, “Jennifer Hudson.” It was written and produced by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Robin Thicke and Pro Jay.
Hudson remarked, “Okay, I’m a little late, but you need to hear this.” “Nozi performed my song ‘Giving Myself’ on @IdolsSA. If I had been present, she would have lost a shoe. She performed that!”

The judges Somizi Mhlongo and JR Bopile applauded enthusiastically during Nozi’s performance. Thembi Seete would have likely stood as well, but she was visibly shaken by the performance and sobbed at the judges’ table.
Nozi, who has previously stated that the former “Idols” competitor is one of her many idols, shared her joy at Hudson’s post on Instagram.
“I’m speechless,” she said. “Thank you, Lord. I’m humbled to have my video shared by an icon like @iamjhud. You deserve every praise!”
Nozi debuted on “Idols SA” in 2016, when she was eliminated in the first round. She praised her mother with playing a significant role in her decision to re-enter the competition.
“Giving Myself” is one of the most well-liked songs by Hudson’s fans. It debuted at number 84 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list, and its success contributed to her receiving three NAACP Image Awards and four Grammy Award nominations (she won the Grammy for best R&B album).
