James Corden concluded his hosting tenure on The Late Late Show with an hour-long prime time special featuring various sketches and performances.

Adele joined Corden for the final Carpool Karaoke, reminiscing on his past eight years hosting the show and becoming emotional while singing a rendition of her song “I Drink Wine.”

In another sketch, Corden enlisted Tom Cruise to participate in a live performance of the Lion King, and other US talk show hosts, including David Letterman, broke into Corden’s house to persuade him not to leave the show.

Corden’s final show was closed with an emotional song, after which he received a standing ovation from his family, including his parents and sisters.

The gambling industry owner, Flutter, which owns Paddy Power and Sky Bet, expects the proposed gambling reforms in the UK government’s white paper to cost it up to £100m per year.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport estimated that the online gambling industry as a whole will face costs of up to £812m due to new affordability checks and stake limits for online slots.

Flutter’s CEO, Peter Jackson, announced that his firm would engage with the government and Gambling Commission during the subsequent industry consultation process.

Despite already implementing some similar proposals, Jackson expects the reforms to cost between £50m and £100m more than the current changes, with the company taking a revenue hit of around £150m annually.

Ladbrokes owner Entain expects a smaller impact of less than 1% of its online revenues, roughly £30m.

Adele’s Carpool Karaoke, Tom Cruise’s Lion King performance, and other US talk show hosts breaking into Corden’s house to persuade him not to leave the show were some of the highlights of the episode.
