Italian GP mourns Queen Elizabeth II’s death

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, there was a moment of respect before to the first practise session of the Italian Grand Prix on Friday.

For the quick ceremony, Mercedes’ two British drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell stood up with Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, and former technical director Ross Brawn.

Domenicali expressed F1’s sincere sympathies to the Commonwealth, the British public, and the Royal Family.

At Monza, a second moment of silence will be observed before the race on Sunday.

The Grand Prix this weekend honours Monza’s 100th birthday and Ferrari’s 75th year in business.
