Inside Kendall Jenner’s “shack” for 818 Tequila in the Bahamas

The area code 818 has expanded internationally. Recently, Kendall Jenner established the first 818 Tequila shop outside of the United States.

The 818 Shack in the upscale SLS Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, offers tequila-based cocktails and Mexican-inspired tapas for $18.

The 299-room, monotone pink hotel overlooks the azure waters of the Caribbean and provides Instagrammable vantage points at every turn. Even if your sister is on her way to jail, it’s challenging to stop taking selfies.

The Tulum-style cocktail lounge is located within the $200 million Baha Bay beachside waterpark, which debuted last year as part of the enormous Baha Mar resort.

Guests feel like Kar-Jenners as they down the stone steps from the SLS building to the first pool, where they can lay in beach chairs or private cabanas or participate in flamingo yoga.

The tree-lined promenade provides ice cream and an aquarium with stingrays. Peer through the palms to observe the “party pool” playing Kygo and offering bottle service all day.

A few sandy steps from Cable Beach, Baha Bay features 24 water slides, a surf simulator, and a not-so-lazy river, as well as luxurious poolside lounge spaces with full-service private cabanas, the world’s first casino gaming pavilion within a water park, and now the 818 Shack.

In September, the 818 location made its 242 debut. Jenner arrived to celebrate the opening, just in time for the release of the Eight Reserve blend of her ultra-premium Aejo tequila.

The new location is the ideal place to refuel after the exhilaration of placing bets and screaming down slides, bringing back youthful feelings of excitement and anxiety.

Visitors should prepare their Skims! The outdoor eatery provides an extensive menu of savory appetizers, such as the $10 sour esquite delivered in excellent bite-sized servings and the $17 delicious steak empanadas with the ideal crunch.

And naturally, tequila! tequila! tequila! Jenner even has a cocktail named after her: the Berry Mint Kenny, a crowd-pleasing blend of 818 Blanco, strawberries, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup.

If you’re not of legal drinking age or in the mood for tequila, there are also mocktails and pressed juices for $10, including a cool cucumber concoction. We can only hope that Jenner is not the one slicing the vegetables.

Guests can unwind at the Baha Bay Lagoon, a 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art wave pool, or use the 818 Shack’s liquid courage to ascend the Thunderball, a high-velocity, six-story, 79-foot near-vertical open drop slide. It has more drama than reality television.

Returning to their rooms at the SLS Baha Mar, Grand Hyatt, or Rosewood properties, all of which are part of the 1,000-acre Baha Mar, is a simple and picturesque stroll through the resort’s rich vegetation.

The 818 Shack is the newest permanent structure on the Bahamian property, but Jenner is not the only celebrity to establish a business at the breathtaking location. Bruno Mars hosted a pool party there on Labor Day weekend to celebrate his partnership with Baha Mar and SelvaRey Rum, while Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake inaugurated Baha Mar’s exclusive VIP lounge, Nexus.
