Indonesian VP receives a delegation from Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace

JAKARTA, 29th July, 2022 (WAM) — Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin received Al-Mahfouz bin Bayyah, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, at his official residence in Jakarta on Friday.

During the meeting, Al-Mahfouz invited the Vice President to attend the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, which will be held in Abu Dhabi, in December 2022.

The Vice President said that he was honored by the invite and expressed his willingness to attend the forum.

Amin said Indonesia and Abu Dhabi have a common vision for peace and tolerance amid diversity.

He then highlighted Indonesia’s experience in realizing a harmonious life.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum thanked the Indonesian Vice President, stressing the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace to learn lessons from Indonesia’s experience of peaceful coexistence between different religions, sects and cultures.

Invitations were also delivered to Yaqut Cholil Qoumas as Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, and a number of Indonesian religious leaders.
