Mary and Jeremy Cox have filed a petition with the Supreme Court through the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, seeking to address their child being taken from their home.

Expressing deep concern, the Coxes stated that they love their son and wanted to care for him, but Indiana’s actions prevented them from doing so and prohibited them from discussing gender with him.

The Coxes highlighted that Indiana had found them fit parents but still removed their child over an ideological dispute, despite no evidence of abuse or neglect.
Criticism of State Action
Lori Windham, of Becket, criticized the state’s decision, calling it an “outrage to the law, parental rights, and basic human decency” and warned that similar cases could happen elsewhere.
