In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Adeleke Agboola, expressed his belief that Governor Siminlalayi Fubara of Rivers State is likely to face impeachment by the House of Assembly.

The senior legal expert emphasized the need for caution on the governor’s part, drawing parallels between the current situation and past events involving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

Cautionary Words from Adeleke Agboola

During the interview, Agboola urged Governor Fubara to tread carefully, emphasizing that he wouldn’t be surprised if lawmakers initiated impeachment proceedings.

The governor was advised to avoid actions that might lead to a situation reminiscent of the challenges faced by Minister Nyesom Wike.

Adding to the discussion, lawyer and political analyst Jide Ojo advised Governor Fubara to mend relationships with lawmakers by exploring options like defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ojo stressed the importance of reaching out and making peace, suggesting that defecting to the APC could be a viable solution.
