Edwards has presented the majority of BBC coverage since the death of Queen Elizabeth II was announced on September 8.

Last week, BBC One viewers raised concern over the newscaster’s sore-looking right eye.

One viewer referred to the presenter as “simply fantastic” for his “excellent” coverage.

They wrote, “Huw Edwards is just outstanding once again today.” He is a phenomenal broadcaster. Completely competent, composed, and pragmatic while remaining sensitive.

“Always the correct tone, isn’t unpleasant when he needs to stop guests to go to live streams, thank you so much!”

Viewers expressed concern for Huw, with some claiming he didn’t get much rest this weekend after breaking the news of the Queen’s death.

“What an exceptional broadcaster. One Twitter user remarked, “He has a remarkable capacity to hold hours of live television together with the informative and thorough expertise it requires.”

The previous week, BBC News viewers expressed concern for Edwards’ health after observing the presenter with a bloodshot right eye.

While documenting the procession of the deceased monarch’s coffin from Holyroodhouse Palace to St Giles Cathedral, the journalist generated anxiety on social media.

Viewers noticed the presenter’s bloodshot eye and said that they hoped he would have it repaired and that he must be “devastated.”

Thursday, September 8, Edwards was also the presenter who broke the news of the Queen’s death to the country.
