Homemade helicopter crash in Florida killing 2, officials say

At least two people onboard a helicopter that officials claimed seemed to be handmade crashed on Saturday in Florida.

Around 10 a.m., according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the helicopter landed on a private property in Clay County between two buildings. Officials arrived on the scene to find the chopper heavily damaged and engulfed in flames.

According to the sheriff’s office, at least two passengers in the helicopter passed away. No names of the victims were given.

Since then, the fires have been put out.

The origin of the aircraft is unclear, and the Florida Highway Patrol is still conducting its investigation.

Nearly 60 miles southwest of Jacksonville is where you’ll find Clay County.
