On Tuesday, 9 May, a hijacker was reportedly arrested in Harrismith, Free State, following a remarkable incident where the victim recognized the suspect at the same hitchhiking location.
The suspect had been sought in connection with a car hijacking that took place in March on the N3 in Heidelberg.
Kindness Turns Into a Hijacking:
The victim, while traveling from Durban to Johannesburg, offered the suspect a lift out of kindness.
Initially planning to drop him off on top of a bridge in Heidelberg due to the darkness, the victim complied when the suspect directed him to stop under a bridge instead.
