Harry and Meghan doppelgängers appear in a Christmas jewelry advertisement

Viewers were perplexed after mistaking Harry and Meghan for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a new Christmas commercial for Kay Jewelers.

Many have noted that a new Christmas commercial for Kay’s $299 ‘Love Entwined’ necklace portrays a pair with strong similarities to the royal family.

In the television advertisement, the couple is seen kissing and cuddling while the Harry-lookalike places the necklace around his partner and the narrator promotes the jewelry.

The narrator states, “An interlocking design embracing a trademark diamond represents your hearts, souls, and lives forever entwined by love.”

Although it is evident upon closer investigation that the actors are not royalty, the camera angles, fades, and dim lighting have led many to question the authenticity of the advertisement.Pictured: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their wedding day

One Twitter user with the name Molly J. mirrored the bewilderment on social media, writing, ‘Is it just me, or did Kay Jewelers purposely cast a commercial so that you would briefly believe that Harry and Meghan were in a jewelry ad?’

Many allege that the ad’s numerous shifting camera angles, fading effects, and low-lighting methods that keep the performers out of focus are supposed to convince viewers that Harry and Meghan are in fact promoting Kayak.

Many on social media were quick to share recordings of the ad, which has been airing since the end of November, due to confusion regarding the couple’s identity.

Miss Lady, a Twitter user, posed a question shared by many: “Is that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in that Kay jewelers commercial, or am I imagining things?” Lol.’

Another Twitter user, Melissa Carter, suggested that the doppelgangers were chosen on purpose.

She wrote, “You can’t tell me that @KeyJewelers didn’t do this on purpose.”

Another Twitter user with the handle Victoria echoed claims that the corporation employed lookalikes to masquerade as royals.

Victoria stated, “I recently saw a commercial for kay jewels in which the actors were chosen especially to invoke harry and meghan vibes, like the guy was a ginger with a beard and the girl had meghan’s skin tone and long dark hair.” I’m desperate to learn how the brainstorming session went.

Kay Jewelers and Signet Jewelers did not immediately react to a request for comment from DailyMail.com.

Many pointed out the doppelgangers in the commercial on social media.

While the doppelgangers appeared to deceive many, those with good vision would have spotted that Meghan’s ring did not match the $170,000 engagement ring that Harry presented to his bride.

The genuine gold band is embellished with a diamond from Botswana and two lesser diamonds from Princess Diana’s collection.

Harry earlier told reporters that the engagement ring was made of yellow gold because it is Meghan’s preferred metal.

In addition to the engagement ring, Meghan also wears a yellow gold wedding band that matches Prince Harry’s.

The proprietor of the ethical jeweler business bearing his name, Arabel Lebrusan, stated that the ring had been modified to make the main diamond ‘appear bigger,’ a fashionable trend for emphasizing the center stone.
