Incredibly graphic photos show Notting Hill Carnival attendees standing in the street in full view of onlookers while brandishing enormous machetes. One shot shows many males standing back and watching as a young man appears to approach them while brandishing a sizable weapon. The photographer stated the “joyful atmosphere turned unexpectedly as an altercation broke out nearby, between two gangs with knives and a machete,” and that he was “in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Separate video footage shows a group of young people sprinting down a west London street in black and balaclavas after a violent conclusion to the yearly festival also surfaced today. One of the group is seen wielding what appears to be a machete.

Eight people were stabbed on Monday in a matter of hours, including a 29-year-old man who was brought to the hospital in a “critical” state, according to the Metropolitan Police, who claim to have made 308 arrests between Sunday and Monday. More than 50 police officers were assaulted in all, including by being kicked, punched, spat on, bit, headbutted, and even raped. The Metropolitan Police Federation, which advocates for line-level officers, reports knowledge of 75 instances of officer assaults and calls the crimes “absolutely disgusting.” Tory mayoral candidate demands that the carnival be moved. Susan Hall, a candidate for mayor of London for the Conservative Party, demanded today that the carnival be moved and possibly conducted in a park since the police “don’t want to be there.”

The event was “born out of the Caribbean community in north Kensington and Notting Hill,” according to a spokesman for London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and this should “remain its home.”‘It’s quite terrible, and I’m afraid we have this every year,’ Ms. Hall told LBC.

It’s amazing what the Notting Hill Carnival does. I’d simply advise moving it. Move it to a location where it can be policed far more effectively than it can currently.I would advise people to look at alternative locations for it to go because it is very, very tough to police because it is so good and successful and very, very many people go there. She added, “Perhaps to a park,” when asked where it should be relocated. And then let the organizers look and decide where they want it moved.Of course, it’s up to everyone else; at this particular time, it’s not up to me.

I simply make the same observation every year about all the mishaps, stabbings, and other undesirable events that occur. And I regularly speak with police officers, who, quite honestly, don’t want to be there because they are in danger.Advertisement
Attacks on 75 police were called “absolutely disgusting” by the Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file staff. It claimed to be aware of six instances in which police officers were bit, one sexual assault on a police officer, and another in which an officer sustained injuries severe enough to require hospitalization. No wonder our members hate policing this event, the federation wrote in a tweet.

In a horrifying shot, a youngster is seen wielding what seems to be a large machete in the air, and in another, the same boy can be seen appearing to direct the ‘weapon’ towards a person who is lying on the ground. A big crowd can be seen watching as police on horses attempt to chase after the gang as they flee in the video.

but running, some members of the group turn their heads to look behind them, but others don’t. Because Monday is “adults day,” viewers of the video have commented, “That’s why I don’t go on Monday.” Police had to take action after the carnival became violent on Bank Holiday Monday, despite detectives’ praise for the “positive” and “good-natured” mood on Sunday.

After being stabbed at Warfield Road, just off Harrow Road, shortly after 9 p.m., a 29-year-old male was initially in critical condition, according to police, but is now in a “serious but stable” condition.Prior to 8 o’clock in the evening, a 19-year-old male was stabbed in Ladbroke Grove and is still in critical but stable condition. Meanwhile, six additional guys, who were stabbed in different events, ranged in age from 18 to 40. They suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Over the course of the two days, according to the Met, 275 people were arrested. On Sunday, 110 people were detained for offenses such as sexual offenses, drug use, assaults, including those on police officers, and possession of dangerous weapons. One man had a non-life-threatening slash wound but refused medical assistance.Additionally, officers took rapid action to apprehend a group that was in possession of a gun. The weapon was taken, and a man was detained. It happened at the same time as Susan Hall, a candidate for mayor of London for the Conservative Party, urged for the carnival to be moved and possibly conducted in a park since the police “don’t want to be there.”

I simply make the same observation every year about all the mishaps, stabbings, and other undesirable events that occur. And I regularly speak with police officers, who, quite honestly, don’t want to be there because they are in danger. For a similar variety of offenses, 165 additional people were arrested on Monday. Police also disclosed that there had been more assaults on officers, including sexual assaults, while the officer who had been bit required hospitalization. It happens after two days of steel drums, outdoor cooking, and colorful headdresses came to an end yesterday night. As part of yesterday’s sunny “carnival climax,” which saw the adults’ procession start in the morning before a feast of music took over the streets, hundreds of thousands of revelers gathered in Kensington.

Celebrities were sighted taking part in the lively annual celebration of Caribbean history and culture, including Lily Allen, Nick Grimshaw, and Idris Elba, who presented his own DJ set. After two million partygoers descended in force for this year’s carnival, which tragically turned ugly on the second day, council staff are already swarming over west London to pick up and tidy mountains of trash.

It is terrible that Monday night at Carnival has been ruined by major violence for a second year in a row, said Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan, who coordinated the policing operation. There is no denying the importance of Carnival to London’s cultural calendar, and the vast majority of visitors will have had a great time. The stabbings, sexual assaults, and assaults on police officers that we have witnessed, however, must not be disregarded.

“We will be reviewing the events of the last two days and carefully considering what may need to change in future years,” the company said. “As we do following any major operation.”It’s crucial to recognize the benefits we can gain from the experience.

I am happy that we were able to effectively monitor crowd density and intervene to stop any incidences of crushing during peak times thanks to our tight collaboration with the event organizers and stewarding personnel.”I want to thank all the officers who worked so hard to keep people safe over the weekend,” he said. The carnival presents a difficult policing scenario. Police were advised to remain watchful and aware while also being friendly, respectful, and sympathetic. They went above and above what was required of them, and they merit our appreciation.
