Joined by Greenpeace’s director of public relations, Rebecca Newsom, policy officer Ami unfurled a banner in the middle of Ms. Truss’ address in Birmingham, before shouting, “Who voted for fracking?”

Now, however, it can be discovered that the former University of London graduate worked for more than a year in the House of Commons.

According to Ms. McCarthy’s LinkedIn profile, she served as a legislative assistant from September 2017 to July 2018, and then as a policy adviser for four months beginning in July 2018.

As the audience booed, Ms. Truss could be heard from the podium urging security, “Let’s get them removed.”

After around 30 seconds, security guards escorted the couple out of the conference room, with one of them spotted seizing Ms. McCarthy’s badge.

As she quipped that the demonstrators were a part of the “anti-growth coalition,” the Prime Minister earned a standing ovation.

The new prime minister has infuriated environmentalists by lifting Boris Johnson’s embargo on fracking and by supporting new oil and gas exploitation in the North Sea.

In a news release issued today, Greenpeace accused Ms. Truss of’shredding’ her party’s 2019 environmental and nature-related campaign promises.

Rebecca Newsom, head of public affairs for Greenpeace UK, asked, “Who voted for this?” In a functioning democracy, the people should receive the government program they voted for, yet Liz Truss is shredding the majority of it.

People voted for robust climate action, a prohibition on hydraulic fracturing, world-leading environmental regulations, and the elimination of poverty and injustice.

What they are instead receiving is fracking, a probable bonfire of wildlife and nature protection regulations, and now the possibility of benefit cuts.

This week, Jacob Rees-Mogg rejected the concept of local referendums to measure support for fracking, while the Energy Secretary supported drilling in his backyard.

The Cabinet minister stated that he would be “thrilled” if shale gas extraction began on his Somerset estate, despite critics’ concerns about earthquakes.

Ms. Truss has offended some Conservative MPs and disobeyed a Tory manifesto pledge by eliminating the earthquake-prevention embargo in England.

The Prime Minister has pledged to only permit fracking in regions where it is supported by neighboring communities, but has not yet provided specifics.

Mr. Rees-Mogg, who is also the Secretary of State for Business, ridiculed the idea of holding a referendum to authorize offshore drilling and onshore wind projects, another contentious issue among Conservatives.

He stated during the Tory convention that businesses may “go door to door, as politicians do before elections,” in order to measure support.

‘Then they must canvass an identifiable group, and if they receive 50% plus one vote in favor, they should be allowed to proceed,’ he said at a Telegraph event. From the stage, Ms Truss could be heard telling security 'Let's get them removed' as boos erupted from the audience

“It’s early days, and we’re still discussing how it could be done. I do not believe that local referendums are inherently a good idea, given voter turnout in local referendums could be quite low, so diminishing the validity of assent.

In an effort to court favor with people, he suggested compensating those whose lives were disturbed by construction and then distributing royalties to the community. After around 30 seconds, security guards bundled the pair out of the conference hall

He stated, “I believe those whose lives are disrupted by the construction should be compensated, and that recompense should be a payment to them.”

Then, a royalty should be paid to the people where the shale gas is extracted.

Mr. Rees-Mogg, whose home is the seventeenth-century Gournay Court in the parish of West Harptree, enthusiastically welcomed fracking on his property.

“Absolutely, I would. I would be ecstatic, especially if I received these payments,’ he remarked.

Mr. Rees-Mogg stated that those who oppose fracking are “the socialists” and Green MP Caroline Lucas, adding, “Well, that makes my heart bleed.”

After a meeting in Birmingham marred by disagreements over tax rates and benefits, the prime minister stated that she is determined to lead the nation through the ‘tempest’ of the global economic crisis in the wake of Covid and the Ukraine conflict.

Ms. Truss asserted, citing her energy bill bailout and tax cuts since entering No. 10, “I refused to condemn our magnificent nation to decline.”

She stated that her three economic priority were “growth, growth, and growth.” She stated, “Growth implies more money in people’s pockets.”

In a deeply personal appeal, she stated that she had “fought” to reach where she is now, detailing how she attended a comprehensive school and was once awarded a junior hostess badge while her brothers were awarded a junior pilot badge.

Ms. Truss, delivering a conservative message, stated that she “adored” business and enterprise. She stated, “I’m not going to tell you what to do, how to think, or how to live your life.”

“I am not concerned in how many two-for-one deals you purchase at the grocery store, how you use your free time, or your virtue signaling.

“I’m not interested in merely talking about things; I want to take action.”

She continued, ‘What I’m interested in are your daily hopes and worries. Can you find a good job in your area? Is it safe to go late at night on the high street? Can you get a doctor’s appointment?
