“Green Goblin” gang member who threatened two subway ladies gets captured

After turning herself in, a suspected member of the deadly “Green Goblin” gang of female robbers who brutally beat and robbed two teenagers on the New York subway was apprehended.

After being named one of the suspects in the horrific assault by police on Friday, Mariam Issouf, 26, of Queens, surrendered on Monday afternoon.

According to the New York Post, she entered with her attorney and was given a robbery charge.

Additionally mentioned as accused gang members are 26-year-old Dariana Peguero, 34-year-old Ciante Alston, and 34-year-old Emily Soto. According to the officials, the four have each been arrested 15 times.

According to NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig, all four accused are occupants of Queensboro Houses owned by the New York City Housing Authority.

Peguero, Aston, and Soto all have criminal records, but Peguero has the most with nine arrests. The other members of the gang who are suspected are still at large, and all three are still at large. Issouf has only ever been taken into custody once.

The horrible incident occurs at a time when robberies in New York City are shockingly up 36% over the previous year.

They are sought for in relation to the vicious robbery and assault of two 19-year-old females on October 2, which occurred at the conclusion of a night out.

Around 2:00 a.m., when the two were waiting for the N train in Times Square, a gang of at least six ladies dressed in bright green costumes raced down the stairs.

According to the mother of one of the girls, the kids retreated and made the decision to board a different train car than the group that was “loud and rude.”

However, the green-clad crowd swarmed into the train from all sides and eventually “jumped” the two teenagers.

The New York Daily News was informed by the mother of one of the victims that there had been no previous conflict between the girls and the organization.

“They just leaped.”

They bum rushed them, were my daughter’s exact words. I inquired, “Why? Have you spoken up? She told the site, “I wish I did because then there would be a rationale for what happened to me.”

The two adolescents are repeatedly kicked, punched, and tossed about the train car in the violent and unprovoked conflict, which was recorded and shared to Reddit. Bystanders video the event without getting involved or trying to assist.

Instead of phoning 911, they made a video. Being my mother, I find it really upsetting that this is the society we live in.

“My daughter is genuinely being beaten while all these onlookers simply stood there,” the mother said. If someone had dialed 911, maybe police would have arrived more quickly, the mother speculated.

Before leaving the scene, the team grabbed the girls’ wallet, phone, and credit cards.

Thank goodness my daughter is present. So much worse might have happened. She said, “These folks belong in cages. “Animals should be kept in cages.” Set a good example for them.

Both young ladies had medical treatment for their wounds, which included bruising on their faces, bite marks, bruises across one girl’s stomach and legs, and concussions.

One of the victims came home for her birthday over the weekend from her college in Florida.

“I couldn’t put her on a flight because of the head damage until I confirmed there were no bleeding on the brain or concussions,” the mother added.

“She celebrated her 19th birthday in this manner.” She told the New York Post, “I hope they get what they deserve and then some because it’s terrible.

Police are still looking for the assailants, the most of whom were covered in complete green masks. Detectives disclosed to the moms that they had seen the vicious assailants’ social media profiles.

The mother continued, saying that the lenient bail regulations in New York State endanger regular people.

‘Making these absurd laws and letting savages roam the streets with nothing but a slap on the wrist,’ she remarked in reference to Governor Kathy Hochul (D) and local and state politicians.

Imagine if it was your daughter, grandchild, sister, mother, or friend as you watch the recordings of these two girls being thrashed by a group of mature women. Imagine yourself in such circumstance.

What became of the New York City that we all cherished? Start mending it right now, she urged.

This November, Hochul will run for re-election to maintain her position as the leader of New York’s political system. After disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) resigned as a result of an investigation into several accusations of sexual harassment in his office, she took over as governor.

Crime is a key issue in the November election in New York.

The city’s crime rate has increased by more than 33% since last year when the most recent subway incident occurred.

Robberies, which have increased by more than 37%, and burglaries, which have increased by 32.4%, are the main causes of the rise.

Grand thefts are up a staggering 43 percent, while felony assaults are up 16.6% over last year.

But at the end of September, Mayor Eric Adams (D) left the collapsing city to go to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, which he refers to as New York’s “sixth borough.”

In the previous year, transit-related crimes have grown by 43%, while felony assault charges have grown by 16%, according to police statistics.

In the same time last year, 1,165 offenses were registered in the city’s transport system. This year, 1,670 offences were reported.
