According to sources, Sen. Lindsey Graham supported Donald Trump’s statement that he could commit murder and yet have a significant fan base, and he described the former president as a ‘lying motherf***er’ who is nevertheless ‘fun to hang around with.’

The South Carolina Republican reportedly told authors Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, whose book “The Divider” was obtained by The Guardian, “He could kill fifty people on our side and it wouldn’t matter.”

“Even if I were to stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone, I wouldn’t lose any voters, right?” Trump made a notable campaign stop in Iowa in 2016. “It’s, like, unbelievable.”

The day before their 2019 encounter, Graham told the husband-and-wife book team a story about Trump bragging about his tight ties with evangelical pastors. According to reports, Trump said to Graham, “Those f***ing Christians adore me.”

Graham stated that it would be “insane” to impeach Trump for his phone conversation with the Ukrainian president in July 2019, but allowed that he was aware of his predecessor’s problems.

Graham commented, “He’s a liar, but he’s still entertaining to be around.”

Observers have been perplexed by Graham and Trump’s tumultuous back-and-forth relationship, which began in 2016 with Graham refusing to support Trump and dubbing him bigoted and irrational.

Graham became one of the former president’s closest friends throughout his presidency. However, he voted against Trump’s demands to acknowledge the results of the 2020 election and blamed him for the January 6 Capitol disruption.

“Trump and I have had an amazing journey. I detest that it must conclude in this way. Oh God, I detest it. From my standpoint, he has been a powerful president. However, this will be the first thing you notice today. At the moment, Graham declared, “All I can say is count me out; I’ve had enough.”

Graham has supported Trump after the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago home, claiming there would be “riots in the streets” if the former president was detained.

An old college friend, New York cosmetics heir Ronald Lauder, convinced Trump that purchasing Greenland was a good idea. The former president reportedly told attendees at a Mar-a-Lago holiday party in 2020 that he would be leaving early out of concern of an assassination attempt by Tehran in response to the US execution of Iran’s top commander, Qasem Soleimani.

Trump reportedly told individuals close to him that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was an example of why women should avoid plastic surgery and that he would not accept Nikki Haley as his running mate because she had a “complexion issue.”

In other sections of the book, Trump disparaged his son-in-law Jared Kushner by asserting that he is only concerned with his “New York leftist circle.”
