Mr Rinehart, whose vast fortune of $36 billion is owed to the iron ore supplied by mining giant Hancock Prospecting, has been recognized for her conservative beliefs for a long time.

She has been a vocal supporter of Mr. Trump and has urged the Australian government to follow the same economic ideas that helped him defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.

Prior to that election, Ms. Rinehard met in Washington with Mr. Trump’s associates Rudy Giuliani and Kellyanne Conway.

Ms. Rinehart has criticized the US media’s coverage of the divisive Donald Trump, calling it unrelentingly “bad coverage” and accusing outlets of unfairly targeting individuals close to the outspoken real estate developer and reality television star, such as his wife Melania.

Ms. Rinehart recently made news for canceling a $15 million sponsorship arrangement with Australia’s national netball team, the Diamonds, after a controversy erupted over statements made by her father, founder of Hancock Prospecting.

Donnell Wallam, an indigenous player, desired an exemption from wearing the sponsored team shirt due to discriminatory remarks made by Mr. Hancock forty years earlier, and her teammates supported her decision.

In a television documentary, he stated, “Most of the trouble comes from those who are useless to themselves and cannot accept things, namely the half-castes.”

“I would poison the water so that they were infertile and could not reproduce in the future; this would solve the issue.”

The move infuriated Ms. Rinehart, who blasted Netball Australia for ‘virtue-signaling’ regarding her desperately-needed monetary injection.

The $15 million contract was intended to be a lifeline for the organization, which has lost $7 million over the past two years due to soaring Super Netball expenses. The netball row blew up after comments from Ms Rinehart's father Lang Hancock (pictured with daughter Gina Rinehart in 1982) resurfaced when he said authorities should taint water supplies to sterilise Indigenous Australians

Premier Dan Andrews of Victoria subsequently intervened with a fresh $15 million deal from the Visit Victoria tourism board.

Ms. Rinehart’s last public appearance in Australia occurred on Thursday evening, when she attended The CEO Magazine Executive of the Year awards in Sydney on the arm of Hancock Prospecting CEO Garry Korte.

The netball controversy erupted when statements from Ms. Rinehart’s father Lang Hancock (shown with daughter Gina Rinehart in 1982) resurfaced in which he claimed authorities should contaminate Indigenous Australians’ water supply to sterilize them.

Indigenous footballer Donnell Wallam (pictured) requested an exemption from wearing the sponsored team shirt due to racist remarks made by Ms. Rinehart’s father forty years earlier.

She smiled and posed enthusiastically with Mr. Korte, who received a Highly Commended Award for CEO of the Year, on the red carpet.

Mr. Trump announced his new bid for the presidency in usually combative fashion by slamming President Joe Biden, the ‘extreme left’ Democrats, and their economic and international performance in the two years since he left office.

The former president disregarded Republican opponents and others who blamed him for the GOP’s poor elections to declare his intention to return to the White House to ‘drain the swamp’ because the country is ‘being destroyed before our very eyes’

“In order to make America great and wonderful once more, I am announcing my campaign for president of the United States today,” he said to roaring applause, before criticizing the FBI raid, the “false dossier,” the “deep state,” and lobbyists.

Trump made his intentions obvious from the opening by telling his audience, “America’s comeback begins right now,” while not formally making the announcement until later in the address.

When I left office three years ago, the United States was poised for its golden age. Trump stated, “Our nation was at the zenith of power, prosperity, and prestige, towering over all rivals, vanquishing all foes, and confidently moving into the future.”

Donald Trump has said he would seek the presidency for a third time in 2024. The former president defied Republican opponents and others who blamed him for the GOP’s poor election results by announcing his intention to run for president again.

Moments before delivering his speech to supporters at Mar-a-Lago, he filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.

He vowed to make his campaign about working people, restoring American energy independence, overhauling elections so that there are ‘only paper ballots,’ and reviving a ‘agenda of greatness,’ despite the fact that leading Republicans and the media advised him not to run.His family was seated in the front row for Trump's special announcement, arriving just a few minutes before him

Mr. Trump filled his address with numerous campaign pledges, some of which resembled those he’s made at rallies this year.

He stated that he would execute drug traffickers, prohibit transgender women from participating in female sports, plant an American flag on Mars, construct a nuclear “missile shield,” and rehire service members who were sacked for being unvaccinated.

“This is not going to be my campaign. This will be our collective campaign. Because you, the American people, are the only force powerful enough to counter the immense corruption we face, he stated while honoring the last six years of the MAGA movement, his midterm endorsements, and his fight against Washington.

Arriving just minutes before him, his family sat in the front row for Trump’s special announcement.

Trump’s adolescent son Barron enters the room with his advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner prior to the president’s momentous statement.

After months of speculation and growing legal fights, he submitted paperwork with the Federal Election Commission within minutes before addressing energized supporters at Mar-a-Lago, where he declared that America ‘cannot bear’ four more years of Biden.

Trump stated, “Biden and the radical left lunatics ruling our country are forcing the collapse of the United States upon us.”

In his lavish ballroom with gold accents and chandeliers, he was announced as the “future president” to chants of “USA!”

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina was among the first Trump allies to applaud the decision.

If President Trump maintains this tone and consistently delivers this message, he will be difficult to defeat. Graham remarked on Twitter, “His address tonight, which contrasted his ideas and outcomes with those of the Biden Administration, paves the way for his victory in the primaries and general election.”

Mr. Trump’s decision comes on the same day as a new survey gave the ex-president a commanding lead over a field of potential 2024 competitors, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has yet to rule out his own White House bid against Mr. Trump.

In a barrage of insults, the former president has referred to the governor as ‘disloyal,’ ‘average,’ and ‘Ron DeSanctimonious.’

Tuesday, when asked about the criticism, DeSantis responded that he was unaffected, but went out of his way to address ‘corporate media’ more directly than the former president.

DeSantis stated, “When you’re leading and getting things done, you take incoming fire; that’s the way of it.”

“When I get up in the morning, corporate media outlets go into a spasm over the fact that I’m waking up in the morning.” It is continuously attacking, and this is just what has occurred.’

He continued, “I believe that what you learn is that it’s just noise.” And what truly matters is if you are leading, getting ahead of problems, providing results for people, and standing up for people. And if you do that, none of the other things will matter.

Prior to the event, Trump’s loyal fans gathered outside on the streets of Mar-a-Lago.

In anticipation of the announcement, supporters also gathered outside of Mar-a-Lago on the bridge leading to Palm Beach.

The dismal showing of the GOP in the 2022 midterm elections gave some party members concern prior to Trump’s declaration on Tuesday.

Establishment leaders, including as the ex-governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, have turned against the former president for promoting far-right candidates who failed to gain momentum with Independent and moderate voters in crucial national elections.

According to a recent post-election survey conducted by Politico/Morning Consult between November 10 and 14, 47% of prospective Republican voters still support Trump as the party’s presidential nominee.

DeSantis comes in second with 33% of the hypothetical vote, trailing Trump by double digits.
