In an unexpected twist of events, two prominent figures who were once political opponents, George Osborne and Ed Balls, are setting their differences aside to start a weekly podcast.
Both Osborne, an ex-chancellor, and Balls, a former shadow chancellor turned Strictly Come Dancing contestant, have announced their new venture with the intention of helping listeners comprehend “what’s really going on inside the corridors of power”.

The autumn launch of the podcast marks an interesting collaboration between the former Conservative and Labour politicians.

Osborne, the former Evening Standard editor, also expressed his enthusiasm about their joint venture.
Describing their relationship as one of ‘frenemies’, he explained how their political conversations, once filled with rivalry, now occur with a sense of mutual respect and understanding.
He said, “We hope to let listeners in on our insightful discussions about what’s really happening behind closed doors in the corridors of power, while also adding a bit of humor to the mix.”

While the title of the podcast remains under wraps, further details are set to be released later this summer.
The production of the podcast is in the hands of Persephonica, the company behind other popular news podcasts such as The News Agents, Newscast, and Americast.
