Friday at 12pm, UP will face Lindelani in the first semifinal, while Copperbelt and NWU Tawana will compete for a position in the final at 3pm.
The advancement of the four teams to the semifinals increased their chances of gaining automatic promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League.
However, only the two finalists from Friday’s semi-finals at the Old Peter Stadium will make their debut in the semi-professional league.
The final will be held at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the winner receiving R200,000 and the trophy.
UP was the best team after the group stage round robin, having won both games, scored six goals, and had two clean sheets to finish first in Group A.
They’ll be anxious to demonstrate the knowledge they gained through the recently concluded Varsity Football season, which has tipped them toward victory.
However, Lindelani are anticipated to give Tuks a push for their money. This is their second consecutive qualification for the playoffs, and their attack is lethal.
The KwaZulu-Natal winners scored seven goals in the group round, with the draw against fellow semifinalists NW Tawana being their lone blemish.
The fact that Tawana held their own against Lindelani and defeated Royal Wizards 2-0 demonstrates that they could be a pleasant surprise.
