Former Vice President Mike Pence calls for a national ban on abortion following the SCOTUS ruling on June 24 to overturn Roe v. Wade

Following the Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 constitutional right to abortion, former vice president Mike Pence called for a countrywide ban on abortion.

The protection of the unborn and support for women at crisis pregnancy centers must be taken to every state in America, Pence said in an interview with Breitbart News.

“Now that Roe v. Wade has been committed to the ash heap of history, a new arena in the cause of life has formed,” he said.

State legislators will determine whether to immediately outlaw or restrict abortion procedures as of June 24.

Pence, who has been vocal about his pro-life beliefs, wants to tighten limits on abortion, similar to those in California, where legislators have pledged to make the state a sanctuary for people seeking abortions.

After being given a second chance at life, Pence declared that “we must not stop and we must not give up” until the sanctity of life is once again at the core of American law in each and every state.

Following the Supreme Court ruling, Pence’s organization, Advancing American Freedom, published a three-minute film commending the outcome while detailing his efforts to oppose abortion since being elected to Congress in 2001.

Pence recently traveled to states with crisis pregnancy centers. Pence was the one who first presented the bill to defund Planned Parenthood in 2007.

For 50 years, the Roe v. Wade legal precedent has allowed abortions up through the first two trimesters of pregnancy.

Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming are among the 13 states that want to outlaw abortions right away.

While this is going on, the West Coast states of California, Oregon, and Washington are working to develop a plan known as the “West Coast Offensive” that would guarantee both in-state and out-of-state citizens uninterrupted access to abortions.
