Former Springbok coach confirmed to work with Maties

It was claimed over the weekend that 50-year-old Proudfoot will be joining Maties after leaving the England RFU after three years following Eddie Jones’ dismissal as head coach.

Jones had Proudfoot as one of his helpers.

Maties have appointed Proudfoot, although in the status of “consultant head coach.”

Maties are five-time Varsity Cup champions, however they have also lost in five finals, most recently to UK-Tuks by a score of 29-23 in 2022.
