Former President Donald Trump praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the constitutional right to abortion on Friday

Donald Trump, a former president, applauded the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday to strike down the right to an abortion.

“This is honoring the Constitution and giving rights back when they should have been given long ago,” Trump said Fox News.

Upon being questioned about how his pro-choice supporters would react, Trump responded, “I think, in the end, this is something that will work out for everybody.” Everything is returned to its original states as a result.

Despite not winning the popular vote, only having one term in office, and facing two impeachments, Trump famously received three Supreme Court nominations.

Since 1973, abortions during the first two trimesters of pregnancy have been legal thanks to the historic Roe v. Wade ruling.

The five other conservative members of the court agreed with conservative Justice Samuel Alito’s view, which served as the foundation for the decision to overturn.

The state will decide on the abortion debate following the referendum on June 24.
When asked about his role in the decision taken in June 2022, Trump responded, “God made the decision.”

Trump pledged to his followers that he would nominate “pro-life” justices who would fight to overturn Roe v. Wade while on the campaign trail in 2016.

Trump remained fairly silent when Alito’s opinion draft leaked, which was surprising given the previous president’s history of bragging about his achievements.

A scan of Trump’s Truth Social page over the past two months turns up no references to Alito’s viewpoint, abortion, or Roe v. Wade.

Trump’s quiet on Roe v. Wade is due to his concerns that coming out too firmly against abortion could cost him with suburban women voters in 2024, according to a May 2022 Rolling Stone piece.

Also in May, Michael Bender of the New York Times questioned the former president over his quiet regarding Alito’s viewpoint. I never like to take credit for anything, Trump stated.

When asked, Republican voters are largely pro-life. Although a National Institute for Reproductive Health poll conducted in October 2020 indicated that over 60% of Republican voters in Arizona and Pennsylvania said that they personally support life, they believed the woman should have the final say.
