For £3.75 million, an award-winning property with a pool and a sizable terrace with an outdoor kitchen is available.

The six-bedroom house, known as Rock Mount, is situated in a Conservation Area on the site of a former quarry in the Merseyside village of Caldy, one of the most prestigious addresses in the north of England.

After being constructed, it was nominated for the RIBA Mansell House of the Year award and won the RIBA North West regional award in 2013.

The mansion at Rock Mount was built to take advantage of the breathtaking views of the Dee Estuary and Welsh mountains while having a little influence on the surrounding landscape.

Famous football players have frequented the upscale neighborhood; England’s John Barnes, Ian Rush, and Robbie Fowler, all strikers for Liverpool, once owned homes there.

Rafa Benitez, the manager of Everton and Liverpool, still resides nearby with his family.

Up until recently, Kevin Thelwell, the 48-year-old director of football at Everton, also rented a house in Rock Mount.

The unconventional residence was built by the owners in collaboration with the architects Shedkm.

It includes two blocks that are skilfully rotated at a 90-degree angle to one another to divide the house into four zones.

The magnificent home offers more than 5,000 square feet of space, including a 57-foot-long open-concept kitchen and living area, a master bedroom with an en suite bathroom, four further bedrooms, a family bathroom, and a study on the ground floor.

A sizable foyer, a family room, and a staff bedroom with an en suite bathroom are all located on the first level.

A heated swimming pool, a patio with an outdoor kitchen, and a sizable garage are all located outside.

To further meld the landscape with the skyline and expand the living room outside for a seamless transition between the inside and outside, Kilkenny Irish Blue Limestone was chosen.

The property is located in a very exclusive neighbourhood that has a long-standing connection to Merseyside businesses, according to Jamie Bradshaw of estate firm Savills.

It has always been a pretty wealthy neighbourhood; in the 1990s, football players frequented the area, but perhaps not as much these days.

“There was a house on the property before this, and approximately 10 years ago the owners built this in a highly contemporary style.

It’s in a high place, looks out over the estuary, so it has really great views, and it’s a quite private plot so you feel pretty cut off from your neighbours.

The proprietors had resided there but later moved out, and more recently, an Everton employee had rented it out.

It is a sizable property that would be ideal for a family, but because of the way the house is laid out, you can isolate yourself in a particular area and it won’t seem as enormous.

The house is perfectly positioned in the heart of its grounds.

It’s a very serene location, and you can view the Hilbre Islands while yet being close to the beach.
