According to a story released on Thursday, after early reluctance, first lady Jill Biden is now “all in” on her husband seeking another four-year term in office.

Jill Biden, 71, was previously described as “not a proponent” of her husband, 80-year-old President Joe Biden, running for re-election, according to CNN, citing seven sources familiar with the first lady’s thinking. However, after last month’s midterm elections, in which Democrats retained control of the Senate and only narrowly lost their majority in the House, Jill Biden’s stance changed.

Jill Biden is now fully committed to a potential 2024 candidacy, despite a source’s description of her as “exhausted” after weeks of conspicuous participation in White House events.

Despite the difficulty, the same source told CNN that the first lady “has begun to express the quiet part out loud” in regards to her husband’s likely reelection.

During the Christmas break, the Biden family was expected to discuss the president’s 2024 intentions, but CNN reported that not all of the important family members will be in the same spot, complicating the discussions.

An assistant to the first lady stated that Joe Biden “intends” to run for reelection, a move that “Dr. Biden and the entire Biden family completely endorse.”

While the president appears to have the support of his family, voters may have other views.

58% of Americans disapprove of Biden running for president in 2024, with 42% citing his age as the primary reason.

Biden, who is already the oldest individual to hold the position, would be 82 years old at his second inauguration and 86 years old when he leaves office in 2029.

According to reports, Biden has “vent[ed] to allies” about his discomfort with age-related comments.

“You think I have no idea how old I am?” Earlier this year, according to Politico, a frustrated Biden lashed out at a close friend.

59% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents would like someone other than Joe Biden to be the party’s nominee in 2024, according to a CNN survey released on Wednesday. 28% of respondents did not have a specific candidate in mind.

The first lady, age 71, is still concerned about her husband’s ability to endure a long presidential campaign, according to a story.

CNN was told by a family member that Jill Biden is more cognizant of how the past few years have impacted Joe. “Of course, as a nation, we are all aware of the age issue. But she is the only one who can consistently examine it.”

However, according to a senior administration official, Jill has “zero concerns” about the president’s stamina.

Jill Biden desires that her husband be recognized for his accomplishments, not his age, when discussing the Biden presidential legacy.

“She is unsure if four more years will be beneficial or detrimental,” a friend told the newspaper.

An official announcement is anticipated after the beginning of 2023.

This choice will be made by the president. This month, White House chief of staff Ron Klain stated at a Wall Street Journal summit, “I expect it shortly after the holiday.” I anticipate that his conclusion will be to proceed.
