On Sunday, April 16, a fire tore through a terraced house in Bangor, Gwynedd, leaving two women hospitalized.
The alarm was raised at around 10:41 am and eight fire crews were dispatched to the scene to bring the blaze under control.
A large number of emergency service vehicles and staff, including North Wales Police, were seen parked on Friars Avenue while the crews battled to dampen the flames.
In the aftermath of the incident, a road to the rear of the property was cordoned off for a time.
Two other properties in the terraced row of houses were also damaged in the fire.
Photos from the scene showed that a large part of the roof had collapsed following the blaze.
Smoke can be seen emanating from the gulf in the roof and a blown-out window on what is believed to be the second floor in one of the pictures.
Initial reports confirmed that all occupants inside the property had managed to evacuate safely and no injuries were reported.
However, the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service later issued an updated statement that two individuals had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
According to the statement issued by the service, “a mid-terrace property was alight and adjacent properties also affected.
All persons evacuated.
female casualties attending hospital for treatment.
Please avoid the area.”
North Wales Police also issued a statement earlier in the afternoon confirming that officers were assisting with the operation and urging people to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and more details are yet to be released.
