Vaughn Dolphin, a far-right extremist from Walsall, West Midlands, has been convicted of terrorism offences after blowing up his own kitchen experimenting with explosives.
Dolphin, who expressed violent and racist views, filmed himself in a gas mask surrounded by a cloud of smoke, after attempting to blend his blast mixture on a domestic hob.
He later posted the videos into extreme far-right chatrooms, bragging about causing an “awesome fireball”.
Police uncovered a treasure trove of how-to guides on how to build a shotgun and homemade plastic explosives, and how to conduct arson attacks, as well as material glorifying Hitler’s SS.
Convictions and Charges
Dolphin was convicted of two charges of possessing explosives, six counts of having documents likely to be of use to terrorists, and two charges of disseminating a terrorist publication.
He was also found guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm – the crude musket barrel.
The 20-year-old had denied being a terrorist when arrested in June 2022.
