eThekwini Municipality has announced that Birchwood Park water is still unsafe to drink

Birchwood Park residents in Pinetown have been reminded by the eThekwini Municipality once more not to consume tap water until it is safe to do so.

Residents of Birchwood received a warning from the eThekwini Municipality earlier this week as a result of the water’s subpar test findings.

According to reports, contractors are working around the clock to fix the Birchwood Park pump station in Dassenhoek after learning that the area’s drinking water quality has been jeopardized.

While repairs are being made, the eThekwini Municipality said it is sending out water tankers to make sure residents have access to clean, safe drinking water.

As a result of the repairs, there is an interruption of water supply in surrounding areas. The repairs are expected to be completed in a few days.

The sampling crew will conduct additional water tests to determine the water quality when the renovations are finished, according to the Municipality.

“Until the Municipality certifies that the quality of the water reaches the required criteria, the public is urged not to consume water from the taps. Additionally, residents are recommended to boil water before using it.
