Eric Weinberg’s sexual assault bail was revoked

In his sexual assault trial, “Scrubs” creator Eric Weinberg has had his bail revoked.

After denying 18 counts of sexual assault and being free on a $5 million (R90.39 million) bail, the 63-year-old television producer has been returned into custody and will remain in jail until his next court appearance next month.

Weinberg, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, “pleaded not guilty, was remanded in custody, and is being held without bail. On November 15, he is due to return to court for a preliminary hearing.

Deputy District Attorney Marlene Martinez told the court that authorities consider Weinberg to be “a threat to society.”

She stated, “He approached any young woman, using his position as a writer-producer to influence them.”

Weinberg’s legal counsel advocated for their client to remain free but be subject to restrictions, such as house arrest.

According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” however, the presiding judge, Virginia Wilson, determined that “the defendant has participated in a pattern of violence against women for more than six years.”

Weinberg was arrested in July at his Los Feliz residence on charges of rape and sexual abuse.

Weinberg, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, “targeted women in grocery stores, coffee cafes, and other public areas.”

They allege that the TV executive “would approach women in their twenties and thirties, posing as a photographer, and set up photo shoots with them.”

They added, “Once the women were in his residence for the photo shoot, he would sexually assault them.”

Attorney Micha Star Liberty, who represents the victims, hailed the decision as “satisfying.”

She told the outlet, “Today, justice was served.” It is gratifying that the judge found sufficient evidence to label Mr. Weinberg a serial rapist.
