Enuma Jennifer talks about how Delta State Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) changed her life

Enuma Jennifer is a native of the Ndokwa East Local Government Area. She is the CEO of Jenny Joyful Catering Services and has a BSc in Political Science.

She participated in the Delta State Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2016/2017 cycle after years of unemployment, where she trained and established herself in Catering and Confectionery.

Four years later, Jennifer couldn’t contain her delight as she explained the benefits of STEP in her family.

She said:

“The training at Songhai Delta, Amukpe inspired me to be self-independent and reawakened the entrepreneurial spirit in me. I have achieved many things through catering service.

“Through it, I was able to renovate my mother’s house here in Warri. I work from home for now and receive calls from clients from time to time to cater for their guests.

“I have trained lots of school children in private schools and Christian women during their churches’ conventions. STEP improved my standard of living and made me self-reliant by increasing my capacity to think outside the box.

“Okowa’s Government has been consistent. Consistency is the ability to sustain the programme to date. I appreciate Governor Okowa’s tenacity in carrying on with the programme.”
