Englishman mistakenly surprises Welsh girlfriend with a deeply tragic song on valentines day.

An Englishman surprised his Welsh girlfriend on Valentine’s Day by singing a Welsh-language love song to her.

However, she hasn’t had the heart to tell him the true meaning of the song.

The song he chose is Myfanwy, a tragic tale about a man begging a woman to explain why she doesn’t love him anymore.

The song is written by Joseph Parry from Merthyr Tydfil and ends with the lyrics, “So give me your hand, my sweet Myfanwy, for no more but to say ‘farewell’.”

The girlfriend made the confession on the Fesshole Twitter account.

Although she didn’t name the song, it’s easy to recognize it as Myfanwy.

People who replied to the tweet understood the song’s meaning, but they also recognized the Englishman’s effort and commitment to showing how much he cares.

They believed that he deserves to be appreciated for his gesture and commitment, despite not knowing the song’s meaning.
