The previous night’s plans had been thwarted due to strong winds, leading to the cancellation of the Thursday evening event.

Anticipation for Mass Ascents and Night Glows
Over the course of the fiesta, if weather conditions permit, there are six more mass ascents planned, each promising a breathtaking display of colorful balloons against the horizon.
Additionally, Saturday evening holds the promise of another enchanting night glow, adding a touch of magic to the event.
The ascent on Friday morning, August 11, saw the participation of around 75 balloons, kickstarting the aerial spectacle.
The Enchanting Night Glows
As dusk settles, the Night Glows commence, creating a surreal visual spectacle.
Approximately 20 hot air balloons are skillfully illuminated by their pilots, who intermittently ignite propane burners, causing the balloons to glow and come alive.
These tethered displays not only showcase the balloons in all their splendor but also offer attendees a chance to observe them up close.
This year’s Night Glows are accompanied by a specially curated soundtrack provided by BBC Radio Bristol, enhancing the multisensory experience.
Upcoming Events and Safety Measures
Saturday, August 13, holds another afternoon mass ascent scheduled for 6pm, followed by a Night Glow event reminiscent of Thursday’s vibrant affair.
To ensure the safety of festival-goers, Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed from 6pm to 12am on Saturday, preventing an excessive influx of pedestrians. Instead, visitors will be directed to use the Festival Way route for their convenience.
