Elon Musk would end Trump’s Twitter ban but will he still buy the platform?

The Twitter ban on Donald Trump may be lifted if entrepreneur Elon Musk completes the purchase of the social media platform, which was reported by Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself.

The billionaire entrepreneur spoke at the FT Live “Future of the Car” conference on Tuesday, and did not shy away from discussing Twitter sanctions like the one Trump received.

“Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts… I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump, I think that was a mistake, because it alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice,” Musk said.

Is Musk’s Twitter buyout at risk?

Despite the fact that Twitter accepted the entrepreneur’s buyout offer last April 25, Musk said the deal will have to wait two to three months to be finalized, although he hinted that there is still a possibility that the buyout may not be finalized.

“I would reverse the permanent ban, I don’t own Twitter yet. So this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what if I don’t own Twitter?” the billionaire said.

Will Trump agree to return to Twitter?

It is still unclear whether, in case Musk is in charge of ending the bans on Twitter, Trump would agree to return to using this social media, since the former president has assured that no matter what happens he will only stay on his Truth Social platform.

“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH, I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it, and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox News.
