Elise Stefanik blasts ‘absurd’ DOJ leaks over Mar-a-Lago raid

Elise Stefanik slams ‘absurd’ DOJ disclosures and redacted files, calling them ‘Russia hoax 2.0’, and insists it will not deter Republicans from probing the FBI.

Rep. Elise Stefanik on Wednesday said the raid on Mar-a-Lago was a plot to target Joe Biden's likely 2024 election opponent and accused the media of falling for a second 'Russia hoax'

A Tuesday night court filing by the Department of Justice included a photograph of classified documents recovered at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in a raid earlier this month

Allies have rallied to Trump's defense insisting he is the victim of another witch hunt as his political opponents try to know him out of the 2024 presidential race

Rep. Elise Stefanik slammed coverage of the Mar-a-Lago raid on Wednesday, saying, “This is Russia hoax 2.0 with the normal devoted media accomplices.”

And she implied it would not prevent a Republican investigation.

She stated, “If the media believes that an outrageously redacted affidavit and leaks would prevent congressional oversight, they are gravely mistaken.”

It follows a court filing that presented additional evidence against Trump.

On Wednesday, a senior Republican blasted the raid on Mar-a-Lago as part of a scheme to target Joe Biden’s likely opponent in the 2024 election and accused the media of cheering on a second ‘Russia hoax.’

And Elise Stefanik, the third-most senior Republican in the House, stated that leaks justifying the operation would not be sufficient to shield the FBI and Department of Justice from investigation.

It comes as court records disclosed additional details about why the F.B.I. searched the Florida home of former President Donald Trump, as well as mounting evidence of an attempt to obstruct justice.

The new allegations, contained in a Tuesday night filing, prompted Trump supporters’ accusations of a witch hunt.

In a statement provided to Axios, Stefanik asserted, “This is Russia hoax 2.0, with the normal media collaborators.”

The latest leaked rationale, which began as nuclear codes, has mutated into whatever Joe Biden’s crooked agencies believe the media would transcribe as the faithful stenographers that they are.

Nuclear secrets were reportedly among the materials Trump transported to Mar-a-Lago upon leaving office, according to leaks made shortly after the raid.

The Department of Justice provided a snapshot of classified materials seized from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in a court filing on Tuesday evening.

Allies have flocked to Trump’s defense, arguing that he is the victim of yet another witch investigation, as his political opponents attempt to eliminate him from the 2024 presidential campaign.

Since then, court documents have made no mention of this. However, they have revealed that investigators seized boxes and containers containing over 100 sensitive documents during the search on August 8.

According to the Tuesday filing, they also discovered classified materials stashed on Trump’s desk.

It includes an image of some of the classified documents and colored cover sheets identifying their classification.

On a patterned carpet are documents labeled as ‘TOP SECRET/SCI’ with brilliant yellow borders and ‘SECRET/SCI’ with a rust-colored border.

It comes as a redacted document detailing the Department of Justice’s justification for requesting the search was revealed on Friday, highlighting concerns that spies and sources may be endangered if the secret information fell into the wrong hands.

However, Stefanik warned that the agencies would not be protected if Republicans won control of Congress in the midterms.

She stated, “If the media believes that an outrageously redacted affidavit and leaks would prevent congressional oversight, they are gravely mistaken.”

The Biden White House is employing the Department of Justice and the FBI as political arms of Joe Biden and Democratic campaigns in order to attack Biden’s most likely opponent in 2024.

“These are the same agencies who were caught illegally interfering in the 2020 presidential campaign when they asked social media companies to censor the Hunter Biden laptop from hell,” the author writes.

On August 8, agents stand watch outside Mar-a-Lago as the FBI searches the property.

The lawsuit notes that Mar-a-Lago is a historic house with 58 bedrooms and 33 baths situated on 17 acres of ground spanning from the Atlantic Ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway. A DOJ officer was shown a storage room containing both federal documents and apparel.

The chronology above illustrates only a few of former president Donald Trump’s conflicts with the National Archives since leaving office, including a separate court dispute with the January 6 committee.

Trump has been at the forefront of portraying the investigation as a biased effort.

He said on his Truth Social platform, “Terrible the way the FBI, during the raid of Mar-a-Lago, flung documents all over the floor (maybe saying it was me who did it!) and then began taking pictures of them for the public to see.”

Thought they desired their privacy? Fortunately, I declassified!’

The back-and-forth has not shed light on the mystery’s central question: Why did Trump wish to keep classified documents and other presidential records?

“Counsel for the former president offered no explanation as to why boxes of government records, including 38 documents with classification markings, remained on the premises nearly five months after the production of the fifteen Boxes and nearly 1.5 years after the end of the administration,” according to the most recent filing.
