Dutch authorities sent Princess of Orange home because of mafia kidnapping worries

Due to concerns that the mafia is planning to abduct her, Dutch authorities have ordered their Princess of Orange to stop studying in Amsterdam and come home.

The 18-year-old Crown Princess Catharina-Amalia, who just moved out of her parents’ royal house in The Hague to start her studies in the Dutch city, is being protected by increased security measures in the Netherlands.

According to De Telegraaf, the heir apparent to the throne will now vacate her student residence and return to the Huis Ten Bosch royal house, where she will be held under the close supervision of Dutch security authorities.

It happens when Catharina-parents, Amalia’s Dutch monarchs King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, are in London for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

The notorious “Mocro Maffia,” a branch of the Moroccan Mafia operating in the Netherlands and said to be in charge of almost a third of the cocaine trade in Europe, is putting the adolescent princess’ safety in danger.

The princess had registered at the Faculty of Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics at the University of Amsterdam at the beginning of the month. It is unknown whether she intends to continue her studies there, but it is assumed that she would do so online.

Ridouan Taghi, the Dutch-Moroccan Mocro Mafia boss, was arrested in 2019 and is now being held in a Dutch jail.

However, it is commonly thought that the criminal mastermind is still in control of a prison cell.

Authorities’ discovery that Taghi had spoken with one of his associates who had killed a Dutch filmmaker in 2004 allegedly led to worries of an attempted abduction or assault on the princess, according to De Telegraaf.

The two exchanged a number of letters with verses from the Koran that Dutch investigators suspect may have been coded communications.

When renowned investigative journalist Peter de Vries was shot dead in the open on the streets of Amsterdam in July of last year, the Mocro Maffia made headlines in the Netherlands.

De Vries kept in touch with Nabil B., a former mafia member who turned on his fellow felons and started providing information to the police.

Soon after, in September 2021, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte received a warning that the Mocro Maffia may also come after him and put him under police protection.

His primary mode of transportation, a bicycle, was prohibited from him as he was being closely followed by armed cops.

The oldest of the King and Queen’s three daughters, Princess Catharina-Amalia, also known as the Princess of Orange, is 18 years old and the heir presumptive to the throne.

Princesses Alexia and Ariane, her two younger sisters, are 17 and 15 years old, respectively.
