DUBAI, 31st May, 2022 – return for its 9th edition on 6th November, 2022, at Bluewaters Island in Dubai.
The event is organised by Plan b Group, in collaboration with the Emirates Athletics Federation and Dubai Sports Council. This year’s edition will have over 6,000 runners who are expected to register for the event in a 10 kilometres and five kilometres race, with a three kilometres run/walk that will be open to women and girls from 14 years and up.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Dubai Sports Council’s headquarters, with the attendance of Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council; Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Murr, President of the Emirates Athletics Federation; Dr. Harmeek Singh, Chairman and Founder of Plan b Group; and popular Bollywood actor Sunjay Dutt.
Speaking on the occasion, Al Rahma said, “The UAE has always been a pioneer in launching initiatives that empower women in all fields, including the sports field, and today, we announce the organisation of the 9th edition of the Dubai Women’s Run next November, which is the most important event in the world of women’s running.”
Major General Dr. Al Murr added that this year’s edition of the Run will enjoy a high level of strong competition, in line with the vision of the Athletics Federation to advance the game to the prospects of development to achieve the desired aspirations, because women will be the winners in the end.
