Former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr will be attending the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis to meet with coaches and front office members from multiple teams. He is expected to meet with a handful of teams during his visit and re-kickstart his free agent process.

Carr has not engaged in any substantial discussions with teams about a potential price tag for his new contract, instead focusing on the overall fit of the new franchise. The Jets have shown real interest in Carr and he reportedly had a positive trip during his visit around 10 days ago.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that the Jets envision Carr as a quarterback who could lead them to the Super Bowl. However, the Jets have also started preliminary trade talks with the Packers about Aaron Rodgers, which could lead to an interesting crossroads for the team.

Carr had also visited the Saints while still a member of Las Vegas, but the Raiders released him on Feb. 14 after nine years with their former second-round pick. In a season where he made his fourth Pro Bowl, Carr threw for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, but he was benched for the final two games of the season in favor of Jarrett Stidham.

Carr’s free agency process appears to be ramping up, with him visiting multiple teams during the scouting combine. The fit with the new franchise appears to be the most important factor in his decision-making process, and it remains to be seen which team he will ultimately sign with.
