David Beckham pays final respects to the Queen in hearty post – praises ‘loving royal family’


David Beckham was among the thousands that attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral on Monday of this week. Beckham paid his final respects to Queen Elizabeth II, who died away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, by posting a photo on Instagram after the grand farewell service.

Beckham commended the Queen’s service as Britain’s longest monarch in a lengthy post. He also sent his condolences to her “loving” family, who are mourning her departure with dignity.

David Beckham is among the millions of people who have paid respect to Queen Elizabeth II, who died earlier this month at the age of 96.

This week, the former Manchester United footballer was among the quarter of a million mourners who attended the burial on Monday, September 19th.

The 47-year-old soccer player turned to Instagram after the funeral to pay his last respects to the Queen, whom he sees as a “unique, inspirational, and caring leader.”

“Our Queen is home… Today we said a final farewell to Her Majesty The Queen. This week the world has mourned the loss of a unique, inspirational & caring leader,” Beckham wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the late monarch’s casket.

He continued, “People from all walks of life came together in their thousands to show gratitude for our beloved Queen. Alongside the incredible ceremony and tradition, we have watched a loving family grieve for a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother with dignity and dedication.”

Concluding the post, he added that the Queen’s “legacy of service and devotion to duty will endure,” adding, “long live the King.:gb:

In a separate post, the soccer star shared a photo of Queen Elizabeth with her late husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died in 2021 after serving as the British monarch’s consort from her coronation on February 6, 1952 until his death in 2021, making him the longest-serving royal consort.

“Back together again,” he captioned the photograph of the two royals in their youth.
