Daniel Palmer, 55, causes sends sister into two-year coma

After emerging from a two-year coma, a woman from West Virginia confessed that the attack that nearly killed her was the fault of her “evil” brother.

Daniel Palmer, 55, is accused of slashing his 51-year-old sister Wanda with a machete and has been charged with attempted murder and malicious harm.

Wanda was discovered at her home near Cottageville in June 2020, unconscious, covered in blood, and suffering from severe head trauma.

Wanda’s nursing facility called to let them know that she was awake and speaking, shocking the detectives at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Police stated that there was not enough evidence to warrant an arrest despite the fact that her brother had been a person of interest throughout the inquiry.

From the perspective of an investigator, this is about as uncommon as it gets. Sheriff Ross Mellenger told FOX, “I think it’s a great monument to the tenacity and courage of the victim herself.”

Wanda alluded to the allegedly tense relationship with her brother in a Facebook post from January 2019.

I give you him to handle, she wrote, “My brother Daniel why u trespassed on my mobile home and destroyed items which you have no right [to].

Investigators had a theory as to what had taken on prior to the assault that put Wanda in a coma, but according to Mellenger, they lacked sufficient evidence to make an arrest.

He told MetroNews that there were no eyewitnesses, no one was living in the house, no surveillance film, and no telephone data.

“There was almost nothing there to advance on.”

But last week, Wanda’s dramatic coma awakening shocked the personnel at the institution where she was receiving treatment, and that all changed.

Wanda was able to speak in single words despite having brain damage, and when asked who had carried out the attack, she replied that it had been her “bad” brother.

The victim had the key to the entire situation, and since she was unable to talk, Mellenger added to Metro News, “We were left with nothing.”

She suddenly appears to be awake and able to explain what happened two years later, astounded.
