Cristiano Ronaldo’s son joins Man United junior ranks

The news was accidentally revealed through a social media post on Gabriel’s Instagram account, who has also signed a contract with United.
This season, the 11-year-old has been playing for the club’s academy, following his renowned father Ronaldo’s comeback to Old Trafford last year.
“Delighted to finally have my signing day done much better to have mine with teammates @cristiano JR,” Gabriel wrote in a post that has over 17,000 likes.
In a Netflix documentary centred on his partner Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo previously spoke about his son’s natural abilities.

“Only time will tell. I will never pressure him. He will do what he wants.
“Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way.”

On Instagram, Rodriguez also posted pictures with Ronaldo Jr. and their family, with the caption in Spanish translated to read: “Pursuing our dreams together. Mom loves you!”
Unsurprisingly, the youngster has followed in his father’s footsteps by selecting the famous No 7 shirt, and he is set to join join United’s U12 side – which also has Nemanja Matic’s son.
Ronaldo Jr. previously showcased his talents for the Juventus youth sides, and around that time his father said: “I hope that Cris, my son, can be like his dad. He says he is going to be better [than me], but I think it’s difficult. He is playing for Juventus and adapting really well, it has been easier for him than for me.”
