COVID-19 cases cross 510.98 million worldwide

The overall number of people who have contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide has topped 510.98 million, while 6,335,096 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in December 2019 in China.

The United States is at the forefront of the country in terms of the number of infections and deaths, posting 81,357,500 cases and 998,695 deaths, followed by India and Brazil.

In the Arab region, Iraq recorded the highest COVID-19 tolls, with 2,324,982 cases and 25,211 deaths.
