Couple measured pizza with tap rule

On a Friday night, a pizza takeaway has always been a popular choice, but one couple who were dissatisfied with its size took it to the next level.

After bringing out a tape measure to show their pizza was smaller than 15 inches, Coral and Luke Heath were dubbed the “takeaway cops.”

The couple grew irritated when they saw their £13 margherita pizza was just 13 inches long, two inches shorter than the promised size.

Westgate Pizza in Canterbury, Kent, has retaliated by claiming that their pizzas shrink after they are cooked.

‘Terrible pizza restaurant,’ Luke had moaned. Staff was quite unpleasant.

‘We bought the 15-inch pizza and it was way too small so I rang them direct before the delivery app to get it sorted.

‘The person directly called me a liar over and over and was very argumentative.

‘He refused to even send a new pizza or a refund since it wasn’t what we paid for.

‘He kept saying they take pictures of their pizza and I am wrong.

‘Well, we measured that pizza after this and that pizza was too damn small.

‘It was burnt, just terrible all over. Really, don’t order from these people, they do not care about you.’

Coral added: ‘I honestly don’t care what the box says. I ordered a 15 so I expect 15.’

However, Mujeeb Hootek, a six-year employee at the restaurant, retorted that they don’t even have a 13-inch pan.

‘We provided a refund, which they accepted, and we expressed our regret,’ he said. We also invited them to visit our facility to observe our pans and how we operate.’
