Cormac Roth, the son of actor Tim Roth and a musician, passed away at the age of 25 after a battle with cancer, his family said on Monday.
Roth “passed quietly in the arms of his family who loved and adored him” on October 16, according to a family statement, and “he kept his wicked wit and humor” until the end.
“The pain comes in waves, along with tears and laughter, when we reflect on the 25 years and 10 months we knew that precious boy,” the family said. “A child who is irrepressible, joyous, wild, and wonderful. Recently, he was a man. We cherish him. We will transport him wherever we go.”
Roth, a Bennington College alumnus, was an accomplished guitarist, songwriter, and producer. In November 2021, he disclosed on Instagram that he had been diagnosed with stage 3 germ cell cancer.
He added, “It has robbed me of half my hearing, 60 pounds of weight, and my confidence, and will continue its murderous march until I am able to halt it and kill it.” “But it has not diminished my will to live or my passion for making music. It has not yet brought me down.”
He recommended everyone to visit their physician.
In his farewell Instagram post in August, he encouraged his fans to “simply dig in and remember that life is short” and thanked them for their support.
“You don’t always get to choose your fate or your future, but be an unmistakable force that lives and breathes,” he stated in the video. “That which you assert you live and are, do so in reality.”
His father is the star of such films as “Reservoir Dogs,” “Pulp Fiction” and “The Incredible Hulk.”
Cormac Roth is survived by his parents, Tim and Nikki Roth, and his brother, Hunter Roth.
