Connie Ferguson bids farewell to Harriet Khoza as “The Queen” filming concludes

Connie Ferguson recently sent a statement of appreciation to the actors and crew of “The Queen” as the series prepares to conclude.

The final season of “The Queen” will air on Mzansi Magic in 2023, after nearly seven years on the air.

“After six successful seasons, the seventh and final season of ‘The Queen’ will premiere in July 2022 and conclude on January 13, 2023,” the network said in a press release.

Ferguson, who also serves as an executive producer on the popular drama, called the photo wrap as “bittersweet” in an Instagram post.

“The Queen Cast and Crew I LOVE YOU. ❤️From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU! FOR EVERYTHING,” she wrote.

Since “The Queen” premiered, the actress has portrayed Harriet Mathapelo Khoza, and the formidable character quickly became one of Mzansi’s favorite villains.

The actress’s tweet was inundated with messages of love from her admirers praising her legacy and expressing their anticipation for her future endeavors.

Television presenter and actress Thembisa Mdoda wrote: “A beautiful legacy. To many more stories ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 Watch God do his thing!!!”

Sthandiwe Kgoroge wrote: “Well done Conns!!! You did it!!!!👏🏾👏🏾On to the next one❤️!”

It is unknown how “The Queen’s” tale will conclude, but if prior seasons are any indication, it will end with a bang.

According to entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, the end of one show signals the beginning of another. A new program entitled “Gqeberha The Empire” will replace “The Queen.”

IOL Entertainment has contacted Mzansi Magic regarding the rumored new show. No comment has been received as of yet.
