According to a source, a Colorado man was detained for reportedly shooting his cousin with a bow and arrow before attempting to break into the station to surrender.

According to a probable cause document acquired by Law&Crime, Carlos Alberto Trejo admitted he “simply woke up” and shot 37-year-old Martin Rodarte in the chest at their Colorado Springs home earlier this month.

Trejo allegedly confessed after breaking into a Colorado Springs police station at 1:30 a.m. through a rear window. 18 December, the report states.

When asked by authorities what he was doing, Trejo, 36, allegedly responded, “I just woke up and shot my guy in the chest… He was shot with an arrow.”

The police were originally skeptical of Trejo’s apparent confession to murder. Two days previously, they were asked to deal with him after he admitted to using cocaine and acid.

According to the affidavit, Trejo informed police on December 16 that “there was a scenario at the apartment that he had to flee from.” Trejo refused to provide additional information, and officers who attempted to contact him said that he was uncooperative.

Trejo is now being detained in the El Paso County Jail on a $500,000 bond (CSPD)

Four hours later, police were summoned to do a welfare check on Trejo, who had arrived at Guthrie’s Bar and Grill a few blocks from his apartment. According to authorities, Trejo was “on acid, hallucinating, and making other customers uncomfortable” and was “emotionally upset.”

Trejo was transported to the hospital to be evaluated “for a probable acid overdose.”

Although cops did not believe Trejo when he broke into the station, they proceeded to inspect his flat and discovered that the door was unlocked. The body of an adult guy was discovered on the bedroom floor alongside a “compound archery bow”

Until the two had a “disturbance,” Trejo’s girlfriend reportedly told detectives she had been residing at the apartment. A few weeks before to the murder, she moved out and Rodarte, whom she claimed was Trejo’s cousin, moved in.

According to jail records, Trejo is presently being held in the El Paso County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
