In a recent episode of Russia 1’s nightly show, one of Vladimir Putin’s top propagandists, retired Colonel Igor Korotchenko, made a series of outrageous claims against the UK.
He stated that the UK was now ‘the main evil’ within the West and called for the severance of diplomatic relations.
According to Korotchenko, the UK was supporting the training of ‘Ukrainian sabotage-terrorism groups’ and that the ‘Anglo-Saxon brain is in London’.
He claimed that the UK had been quite effective in developing their component of carrying out acts of sabotage ever since the Second World War and that they were now actively sharing such experience.
Korotchenko then went on to state that it was necessary to ‘downgrade diplomatic relations with the UK’ and that they should ‘publicly throw the British ambassador out of Moscow on camera’ and recall the Russian ambassador in return. He wanted to reduce the diplomatic presence to ’10 or 12′.
The Kremlin mouthpiece then called for Moscow to ‘weaken MI6’s intelligence capabilities as much as possible by ‘crushing and expelling in full MI6’s undercover diplomatic presence, including the deep-cover positions’ – which he claimed Russia already knew identities of.
After the bizarre rant, Korotchenko said, ‘We must act uncompromisingly and not pay attention to the possible howls and reaction from our adversary.’
This is not the first time that Putin’s propaganda machine has targeted the UK. Analysts on the show have previously said that London should be ‘turned to dust’ after reports said Ukraine was ‘prepared’ to use British missiles to strike Crimea.
