College Of Education To Reopen, Students To Pay N4,500

The Adamawa College of Education in Hong, shut down on November 29, 2021 as a result of demonstration by students will be re-opening on February 24, 2022.

The Registrar of the College Alhaji Shuaibu Ahiwa who made this known in a Telephone interview with ABC Yola Correspondent said the reopening followed approval by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to that effect.

“During the demonstration, the value of the damaged multimedia centre and some other structures of the College amounted to over sixty-three million naira.

“As such, each student was initially to N10, 500 but Governor Fintiri reviewed it downward to N4, 500 as payment for damages of the destruction considering that majority of the students are from poor family background,” he said.

According to him, NCE III students are to resume on Thursday, and to continue the examination that was put on hold, on March 1.

Similarly, NCE II students resume on March 7 and continue their examination on March 9, while NCE I and Pre-NCE students will resume on March 14 and continue their examination on March 16.

The Registrar added that students would sign an undertaking and a letter from parents or guardian to be of good behaviour and to abide by all the rules and regulations of the College.
