Coldplay is set to perform at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Tuesday, June 6, and Wednesday, June 7, as part of their highly-anticipated Music of the Spheres Tour 2023.
Fans have eagerly purchased tickets, with some paying up to £240.
However, if they want to get their hands on official Coldplay merchandise, they will have to shell out even more.
Coldplay World Tour Merchandise Draws Attention and High Prices
Outside the Principality Stadium, Coldplay World Tour vans are parked, selling merchandise at a significant cost.
The popular black hoodies are priced at £80 each, while a cap will set fans back £30.
The hoodies feature a space-like design on the back, and the caps come in two variations—one with the “Coldplay” wording on the front and another with the slogan “Everyone is an alien somewhere.”
Range of Merchandise Available at Varying Prices
The merchandise stand offers a tote bag with the same alien slogan for £10.
Additionally, T-shirts are available for £40, including a special Cardiff design featuring sketches of the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Castle, and other local landmarks.
Other classic Coldplay T-shirts incorporate galaxy designs and space-themed elements.
All T-shirts include the Music of the Spheres Tour dates and locations on the back, with fabric options in both black and grey.
Additional Items and Fan Excitement
In addition to clothing, fans can purchase the 2023 programme, complete with stickers, for £25.
A poster featuring the Cardiff design found on one of the T-shirts is also available for £25, serving as a memento of the tour’s visit to the city.
Excited fans began queuing as early as 6 am to secure prime spots for the Tuesday, June 6 concert, with stadium gates opening at 5 pm.
Fan Anticipation and Personal Touches
Devoted fan Lewis Hill, who stayed in Barry the previous night, expressed his enthusiasm for the band, wearing a T-shirt purchased at a previous Coldplay gig.
Some fans, like James Walls, arrived early with hopes of securing a good view and even getting Coldplay members to draw them a tattoo.
