Coaching changes for the Pirates senior team

A legend’s comeback appears to be in the works for the Orlando Pirates, who are currently going through a season of upheaval.

The technical staff of the Pirates senior team has undergone several changes, but it now looks possible to make similar changes to their junior organisations.

Fadlu Davids, a former assistant coach for the Pirates, announced his departure at the conclusion of the previous season.

Mandla Ncikazi, the team’s co-coach from last season, was then demoted to his position as an assistant coach after Jose Riviero was hired as the team’s head coach.

According to the most recent news, it currently appears that the coaching staff for the Pirates DStv Diski Challenge may undergo similar additions and reorganisation.

The Buccaneers are planning to hire former player and legend Joseph “Duku Duku” Makhanya, according to the most recent reports.

Return of Makhanya is anticipated.

Makhanya is rumoured to be in line for a coaching position with the club’s DStv Diski Challenge team, where he will help shape the future stars of the team, according to people close to Bucs.

In the early 2000s, under the direction of renowned youth coach Augusto Palacios, Makhanya and several other ex-Bucs stars progressed through the ranks at the Pirates. Soccer-Laduma wrote this.

He is also an unwavering Buccaneer.

For more than ten years, Makhanya was a key player for the Pirates, earning a reputation as a quick and cunning winger who frequently teamed up with players like Steve Lekoelea and the late Gift Leremi and Lesley Manyathela to devastating effect.

The diminutive 40-year-old would join Wayne Sandilands, a goalie who recently resigned, as another former player who had been enlisted in the club’s development system.
